About Victor

Victor is located in the northwest corner of Ontario County along the border of Monroe County.

It is a thirty-six-square-mile township nestled in the foothills of the Finger Lakes offering residents, businesses and visitors the best of all worlds - a peaceful, small town setting within minutes of the Cities of
Rochester and Canandaigua. We are easily accessible via NYS Routes 96 and 490 and NYS I90's exit 44 from the east or exit 45 from the west.

Our population has grown steadily in the last decade from 7,161 in the 1990 census to 9,977 according to the 2000 census information. Our tax structure is based on 100% assessment with rates among the lowest in Ontario County.

Newspapers include the Canandaigua Daily Messenger, the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, the Victor Post and The Shopping News. See our News section. Rich in history, the Town provides residents and visitors with numerous recreational programs and events, a number of parks, hiking trails, golf courses and shopping opportunities. Details on all of these are available here on our site. A quarterly newsletter is mailed to residents and businesses. Issues are available online. (See PDF Downloads section to the right)

Victor is represented at the state level in the 53rd Senate District by Senator Michael Nozzolio and in the 130th Assembly District by Representative Sean T. Hanna. At the federal level, we are represented in the Senate by Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer, and in the House of Representatives 29th Congressional District by Thomas Reed. More information and links to their websites are included under both the "Links To Related Sites" and "Elected Officials" sections.

Check back often for the latest news on public hearings and bids, meeting schedules and agendas, current events and opportunities to get involved in Town government and participate in numerous recreational programs.
