Supervisor
Jack Marren was elected as Victor Town Supervisor and took office on December 2, 2008.
As Supervisor, Jack serves on various boards & committees:
Ontario County Economic Development Corp - Board Member Health & Medical Services Committee - member Insurance Committee - Chairman Planning & Research Committee - member
Finger Lakes Municipal Health Insurance Trust Vice-Chairman
Supervisor Duties:
- Oversees county-wide insurance liability claims and policies, litigation resolution, workman's compensation cases, insurance waivers, risk management, and safety practices.
- Reviews financial applications for new and existing County businesses involving employee retention, job creation, job training programs, and management of HUD funds.
- Directs legislation involving various county operations such as laws, finances, public roads, public safety, public works, landfills, environmental quality, and human resources.
- Provides oversight to county health and medical services involving nursing homes, Medicare/Medicaid interventions, substance abuse, mental and public health, worksite wellness, home health agency programs, coroners, and health programs in the county jail.
- Advises county planning and research committees on public transportation, economic development, university co-operatives, county planning initiatives, farming and agriculture, tourism, and environmental impacts.
- Manages town-wide Strategic Plan with committees of residents involved in improving the quality of life, housing, transportation, communication, finances, land use, and economic revitalization.
- Supervises town government municipality of approximately 14,000 residents and 50+ employees, with oversight of a $14.1 million budget.
- Acted as Deputy Mayor for village municipal government responsible for human resources, roads, infrastructure, and the sewer treatment plant.
- Deals with a variety of items involving legal, environmental, development, zoning, safety, and transportation situations impacting Town and County residents.
- Responds to internal and external customer feedback, complaints, and ideas in a timely and productive manner, ranging from short-term complaints to long-term project activities for process and municpality improvements.
