LEGAL NOTICE
ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE VICTOR FIRE DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Victor Fire District will take place on December 10, 2019 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Victor Fire District Fire House located at 34 Maple Avenue, Victor, New York 14564 for the purpose of electing the following fire district officers:
One Fire Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2024;
One Fire Commissioner for a four (4) year term, commencing January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2023;
One Fire Commissioner for a three (3) year term, commencing January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2022;
One Fire Commissioner for a two (2) year term, commencing January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2021;
One Fire Commissioner for a one (1) year term, commencing January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2020;
One Fire District Treasurer for a three (3) year term, commencing January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2022.
Pursuant to Town Law 174(2), the person receiving the greatest number of votes for the office of fire commissioner shall be elected for a term of five years; the person receiving the second highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of four years; the person receiving the third highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of three years; the person receiving the fourth highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of two years and the person receiving the fifth highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of one year.
All candidates for a District Office shall be residents of the Victor Fire District, not convicted of any degree of arson and file in writing their name, the position and term they are seeking with the Secretary of the Victor Fire District, at 34 Maple Avenue, Victor, New York 14564 and received by the Fire District Secretary on or before 12:00 p.m. on November 20, 2019.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN, that at such time and place, the following Propositions shall be considered:
Proposition 1: Shall the Victor Fire District establish an “Equipment Repair and Replacement Capital Reserve Account” for the purpose of accumulating the capital reserves of the Fire District for the purpose of maintaining, repairing, improving and replacing the equipment of the Fire District?
Proposition 2: Shall the Victor Fire District establish an “Apparatus Repair and Replacement Capital Reserve Account” for the purpose of accumulating the capital reserves of the Fire District for the purpose of maintaining, repairing, improving and replacing the apparatus and motor vehicles of the Fire District?
Proposition 3: Shall the Victor Fire District establish an “Building Repair and Replacement Capital Reserve Account” for the purpose of accumulating the capital reserves of the Fire District for the purpose of maintaining, repairing, improving and replacing the buildings and grounds of the Fire District?
Proposition 4: Shall the Victor Fire District establish a “Repair Reserve Fund” for the purpose of accumulating the capital reserves of the Fire District for the purpose of maintaining the operations of the Fire District as required by law?
Any elector of the Victor Fire District who shall be registered voter with the Victor County Board of Elections on or prior to November 18, 2019 and who shall have resided in the Victor Fire District for at least thirty days preceding such election shall be qualified to vote.
